This is a 1987 Taylor 610 made in Lemon Grove, CA and signed by Bob Taylor. This guitar was originally left handed and at one point was modified to be a right handed model. The nut and saddle were both made for a right handed guitar as well as the original pickguard being moved to the other side. As you can see from the photos there is a light area where the pickguard used to be.
This guitar is a Solid Spruce top with Maple sides and back. The fingerboard is ebony and has white binding. The binding is still in fantastic shape for it's age. There is some discoloring in parts of the binding on the guitar but that is to be expected of a guitar it's age. There is some weather checking in the finish. This checking is in the form of small light cracks along the top woods grain. These light cracks are in the finish and not in the wood. There are no splits in the wood of this guitar.
There are scratches from use on the top and buckle rash on the back. Some minor/small dings are on the top of the guitar and as well as a few small ones on the back. These are not deep, are not cracking and have not caused any separations or affect the play-ability of the guitar. The neck is in fantastic condition as well as frets. The neck plays smooth and the action is very nice and sleek.
This guitar did have an active undersaddle pickup placed in. The tuning keys are the original and still keep stable tuning on the guitar.
Other than wear due to age; this guitar is spot on "Taylor Tone". The guitar has a full round sound and plays just as good. Quality wood selections, great building and age make this guitar not only a treat to play but also a great collectors item and or studio piece.
